God knows everything

[20:98] Your only god is GOD; the One beside whom there is no other god. His knowledge encompasses all things.

I enjoy teaching my son, Gabriel, random facts as we’re driving around town. Over the course of many such drives, he said to me: “Man, Eubie, you know everything!” My response was, “No, son, only God knows everything. I may know a bit about a lot of different things, but God knows every single thing.” I want to teach him that God’s knowledge knows no limit and that God created all things and that God is present in each and every moment of our lives.

[20:110] He knows their past and their future, while none encompasses His knowledge.

[22:70] Do you not realize that GOD knows everything in the heavens and everything on earth? All this is recorded in a record. This is easy for GOD to do.

Recently his interest has been in sharks and octopus and stingrays, which led me to look up various things about the oceans. I find the ocean to be one of the most humbling creations of God for us humans.

Ocean Waves

It has been ever present in the history of the human race, but it is the source of mystery like no other. It is said that humans have a greater knowledge of outer space than the ocean on our home planet. And God is the only one who has a complete knowledge of this grand mystery.

[11:7] He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days—and His (earthly) domain was completely covered with water—in order to test you, to distinguish those among you who work righteousness….

[30:46] Among His proofs is that He sends the winds with good omen, to shower you with His mercy, and to allow the ships to run in the sea in accordance with His rules, and for you to seek His bounties (through commerce), that you may be appreciative.

Historically, there are four named oceans: the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Arctic. However, most countries, including the United States, now recognize the Southern (Antarctic) as the fifth ocean.
