Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 7:200-202] When the devil whispers to you any whisper, seek refuge in GOD; He is Hearer, Omniscient. Those who are righteous, whenever the devil approaches them with an idea, they remember, whereupon they become seers. Their brethren ceaselessly entice them to go astray. One of our spiritual goals is to become a "seer" as described in 7:200-201. We know from Quran that we need to seek refuge in God. But going from knowledge to consistently applying that knowledge can be a challenge. We humans are fallible and may not always succeed in doing well. But we need to keep trying. And God has given us a lifetime. So how can we recognize when we are being targeted by Satan? We start by asking for God's help. Next, we can try an approach adapted from psychology: 1) We try to observe or monitor ourselves and our thoughts. And increase our mindfulness of God. 2) Next, God willing, we detect or recognize the whispers from Satan. 3) Then, we act by seeking refuge in God and doing our part to be righteous. God willing over time, this becomes like a habit or second nature to us. May God help us in our quest to become righteous seers References Seeking refuge in GOD, https://www.masjidtucson.org/God/seeking_refuge_in_God.html Enjoying God's Protection, https://www.masjidtucson.org/publications/books/sp/1999/feb/page3.html Peace.
