Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, The Purpose of Our Life* [Quran 67:2] The One who created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better.* He is the Almighty, the Forgiving. *67:2 See the Introduction and Appendix 7 for details of the purpose behind this world. [Quran 13:24] "Peace be upon you, because you steadfastly persevered. What a joyous destiny." [Quran 2:185] Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. ... "Not giving up" or persevering is a theme humans can relate to. It gives us hope and the strength to keep trying. In some ways it is the story we may hope could be said for each of our souls. We each have spiritual improvements we struggle with. It could be reverence of God throughout our Contact Prayers, fighting stinginess, being kind to parents, being honest, not backbiting, killing the ego, being kind when we speak to those who get on our nerves, not overeating, being more grateful, glorifying God when we wake up, or something else. Satan may try to tell us to give up because we failed multiple times already. But each morning that God gives us to wake up, is the gift of another day, an opportunity to try again! With Ramadan coming up next month, let us renew our efforts to steadfastly persevere. May God help us do better to reach our goals and draw closer to Him.
