In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

	Freedom of Choice
[Quran 33:72] We have offered the responsibility (freedom of choice) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to bear it, and were afraid of it. But the human being accepted it; he was transgressing, ignorant.*
*33:72 The animals, trees, stars, etc. took advantage of this most gracious offer. See Appendix 7.


We humans wanted to come to this world with freedom of choice. With that comes the responsibility of making good choices and decisions. In this world, we make choices regularly. Whether it is decisions at work or in our personal life. Our life to this point can be seen as the "sum of our choices".

We also make choices for our souls, e.g., whether we choose this fleeting life or the Hereafter as our priority (Quran 17:18-19). Based on our life choices, our final destiny is determined by God on the "Day of Decision" (Quran 77:7-44). And the consequences are eternal.

Let us be mindful of God in our decisions. And choose wisely each step of the way.
