Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 25:71] Those who repent and lead a righteous life, GOD redeems them; a complete redemption. [Quran 46:15] ... "My Lord, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do the righteous works that please You. Let my children be righteous as well. I have repented to You; I am a submitter." Repentance is a true change of heart, not just lip service. It means turning back to God. And wanting to do the things that please Him. A deep remorse and a desire to stop wronging our souls and do what is righteous. God tells us in the Quran to repent a firm repentance (Quran 66:8). And to couple repentance with leading a righteous life (Quran 17:25, 25:70-71, 20:82, 28:67). A sincere person knows that they cannot commit sins until death comes to them then say, "Now I repent." (Quran 4:18) This is because after repentance the soul needs to grow and develop through righteous works. Let us be among those who repent, reform, hold fast to God and devote our religion absolutely to God.
