Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 17:15] Whoever is guided, is guided for his own good, and whoever goes astray does so to his own detriment. No sinner will bear the sins of anyone else. We never punish without first sending a messenger. [Quran 41:46] Whoever works righteousness, does so for his own good, and whoever works evil does so to his own detriment. Your Lord is never unjust towards the people. God's commands are a blessing, and observing them is for our own good, and brings us happiness. Sometimes, we don't value what is freely given, like air, or our hearing or eyesight. Or God's guidance and wisdom in the Quran. But if these were taken away, we realize their worth for the well-being of our body and our soul. We also get lazy to do things that take some effort, e.g., prayers, reading Quran or striving. But in the same way as exercise benefits our body, observing commandments benefits our soul and keeps it healthy. The world has progressed where we now pay to go to a gym to exercise, and not everyone can even afford the best gyms or trainers. But observing God's commandments is open to everyone, and the Teacher of the Quran, the Most Gracious, does not charge anyone. We thank God that He is so Gracious and Merciful to us. May we use the opportunities that God has given us for free.
