In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 2:245] Who would lend GOD a loan of righteousness, to have it repaid to them multiplied manifold? GOD is the One who provides and withholds, and to Him you will be returned.

[Quran 64:17] If you lend GOD a loan of righteousness, He will multiply the reward for you manifold, and forgive you. GOD is Appreciative, Clement.


In the scale of the universe, we humans are tiny and powerless. If we were looking through a telescope from the moon (never mind the galaxy or universe) we could not see ourselves. And yet we are not invisible to God. And while the Lord of the universe does not need anything from us -- He encourages us to worship Him, ask Him for help (Quran 1:5) and lend Him a loan of righteousness that He will repay manifold (Quran 2:245, 64:17). Does the loan benefit God or us? This tells us that the Most Gracious, Most Merciful wants us to do well. And to grow our souls. He wants us to redeem ourselves. He has designed a beautiful system to grow closer to Him and erase our sins, whether it is through charitable works, meditation, steadfastness, prayer, or the many ways He gives us to work righteousness.
