Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 1:5] You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help. [Quran 12:86] He said, "I simply complain to GOD about my dilemma and grief, for I know from GOD what you do not know. Sura 12, Joseph, has many lessons for us (Quran 12:7). From Jacob's story, one of the things we learn is about patience and seeking help only from God. There is a special kind of resilience and faith in only complaining to God about our state. The imploring is not as an objection to His will, but as an acceptance of our own weakness and the sincere need that we ask God to help us. No matter what we are going through, talking with God about it is not only an act of faith but also of hope. God is the One who helps make things better. In the situations of Jacob (Quran 12:86) and the woman who complained to God (58:1), only God could help and He did so in in a manner that no one else possibly could. When we confide in God, there is a unique reassurance that overtakes us as we are asking help from the One who controls every atom and commands every heart. Even when our family, friends or doctors assist us, the help and healing truly comes from God. Let us seek solace in our Lord believing that He will not only hear us, but heal us, fix our problems and guide us.
