Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful ** Conference reminder: The annual Submitters conference will be in Dallas TX from August 1-3, God willing. Details are at: http://www.masjidtucson.org/conference/ (early registration rates end 15-July) ** Peace be upon you, [Quran 1:6] Guide us in the right path; [1:7] the path of those whom You blessed; not of those who have deserved wrath, nor of the strayers. [Quran 4:175] Those who believe in GOD, and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into mercy from Him, and grace, and will guide them to Him in a straight path. Seventeen times a day we turn to God in our Contact Prayers (Salat) and ask Him to guide us in the right path. These repeated words urge us to consider: what exactly is this right or straight path we seek? How can we, as believers, recognize it, consciously choose it, and remain steadfast upon it? The Quran teaches us that the right path (also translated as the straight path) is the religion of monotheism (Quran 6:161). It is a path of upholding the commandments (Quran 42:52). It seems simple. But to internalize it and follow it steadfastly is something that may take us a lifetime. May God guide us on the right path.
