Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 47:24] Why do they not study the Quran carefully? Do they have locks on their minds? [Quran 4:82] Why do they not study the Quran carefully? If it were from other than GOD, they would have found in it numerous contradictions. This is such an important idea--to study the Quran. It's a book to be read over and over, to be discussed in Quran studies, to be gone over in depth, to be really understood. It's not a book to be wrapped up and placed on a high shelf to be brought out on special occasions nor to be used like a good luck charm. We need to really study it. When we get together in Quran study groups--whether in person or on-line, we spend time looking at each verse and really trying to understand its meaning and significance. How does this relate to my life personally? What can I learn from this verse? Studies should be a time of sharing, discussing different views without rancor, bringing in knowledge and personal experience, Biblical verses or other researched material. God has provided for us so much information out there and we need to look at it critically in light of the Quran. Follow the Word of God [Quran 39:18] They are the ones who examine all words, then follow the best. These are the ones whom GOD has guided; these are the ones who possess intelligence. Quranic Study Groups [Quran 18:28] You shall force yourself to be with those who worship their Lord day and night, seeking Him alone. Do not turn your eyes away from them, seeking the vanities of this world. Nor shall you obey one whose heart we rendered oblivious to our message; one who pursues his own desires, and whose priorities are confused.
