Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:51] "GOD is my Lord and your Lord;* you shall worship Him alone. This is the right path." *3:51 This is precisely what Jesus is quoted to say throughout the New Testament. See for example the Gospel of John 20:17, and the book "Jesus: Myths and Message" by Lisa Spray, Ch. 4 (Universal Unity, Fremont, California, 1992). ... "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment." [Matthew 22:37-38] As December 25 approaches, the commercialization and festivities can overshadow the message of Jesus: to worship God alone, with all our heart and soul (Quran 3:51, Matthew 22:37-38). The message of Jesus was the same, in essence, as that of all of God's messengers. They all invited to God's path and preached the universal truths about believing in God and the Last Day, and leading a righteous life. Wouldn't the best way to respect Jesus be to follow his message and mission, i.e., to devote our worship to God alone and lead a life that pleases Him?
