In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 24:41] Do you not realize that everyone in the heavens and the earth glorifies GOD, even the birds as they fly in a column? Each knows its prayer and its glorification. GOD is fully aware of everything they do.

[Quran 67:19] Have they not seen the birds above them lined up in columns and spreading their wings? The Most Gracious is the One who holds them in the air. He is Seer of all things.


Birds are among God's amazing creations. Humans are fascinated by their ability to fly, their songs and their beauty. Birds also play an important role in the ecosystem including pest control and propagation of plants. They are intelligent creatures as we see from the story of Solomon in the Quran and from scientific research. Songbirds, hummingbirds and parrots are among the few animal groups that can learn and produce new sounds. We enjoy birds as pets, and they are commercially important as poultry.

Some of us may get a chance to see or hear birds regularly. But even if we don't, birds are among God's proofs (Quran 16:79). And provide yet another opportunity for us to appreciate God's wonders.
