Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 50:7] And we created the earth, and scattered on it mountains, and grew in it all kinds of beautiful plants. [50:8] This is an enlightenment, and a reminder for every pious worshiper. [50:9] And we sent from the sky blessed water, to grow with it gardens and grains to be harvested. [50:10] Tall date palms, with clustered fruit. [50:11] Provisions for the people. And we revive with it dead lands; you are similarly resurrected. Why does God mention "remind" so often in the Quran? Because He knows that we need the reminders! We humans are forgetful and easily distracted. He repeats His commandments and lessons throughout the Quran to help us remember. And He encourages us to read the Quran regularly (Quran 17:78, 73:4, 73:20). The Quran is a reminder (Quran 15:9, 21:50) and a mercy for those who believe (Quran 29:51). And those who are intelligent and reverent take heed and benefit (Quran 3:7, 20:3, 38:29). May God help us be among them.
