In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

[Quran 1:5] You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help.

[Quran 11:88] ... My guidance depends totally on GOD; I have put my trust in Him. To Him I have totally submitted.


Different countries of the world celebrate an "independence day" (e.g., July 1 in Canada, July 4 in USA, July 5 in Algeria, etc.). But as much as we like to be "independent" (from other humans), as Submitters to God, we recognize our dependence on God.

We humans are powerless and weak and cannot even help ourselves (Quran 10:49), while all power belongs to God alone (Quran 18:39, 40:3, 51:58). Which one of us could restore our own hearing or eyesight (Quran 6:46)? Or rescue ourselves if we were stuck in the middle of the sea (Quran 6:63, 10:22, 17:67)?

Recognizing our dependence on God is a good thing. It allows us to turn to Him and submit to Him totally. Only our Creator can (and does) help us if we turn completely to Him alone (Quran 22:15).
