Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, When elite athletes or famous celebrities represent a product, people may associate the values or characteristics of the "brand ambassador" with the product. A blameless ambassador conveys good qualities about the product they endorse. In contrast, bad behavior can reflect poorly on the brand. Whether we know it or not, in some sense we are "brand ambassadors" for Submission. We need to please God, first and foremost, and set a good example (Quran 26:84) that shows His perfect religion in the best possible light. We must not repel from the path of God by setting a bad example (Quran 16:94). Society turns away when it sees religious people preach good but practice bad. We need to practice what we preach. If we say Submission is a religion of peace, we need to be peaceful in our dealings with others. If we say Submission means worship God alone, we must be very careful never to associate anything or anyone with God. [Quran 26:84] "Let the example I set for the future generations be a good one. [Quran 3:104] Let there be a community of you who invite to what is good, advocate righteousness, and forbid evil. These are the winners. Will we be on our best behavior today?
