In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

God is Forgiver, Most Merciful (Quran 2:173, 2:182, 2:192, 2:199, 2:218, 3:31, etc.). He gives us a lifetime of chances in this world, that we may seek forgiveness for our sins, and submit to Him totally, and work righteousness. All of us rebelled against God during the great feud (the original sin), and this life is our third and final chance to redeem ourselves. As humans we still sin, and it is a great mercy from God that He allows us to seek His forgiveness, repent, and work hard to do better. 

     God's Infinite Mercy
[Quran 39:53-59] Proclaim: "O My servants who exceeded the limits, never despair of GOD's mercy. For GOD forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, Most Merciful."
 You shall obey your Lord, and submit to Him totally, before the retribution overtakes you, then you cannot be helped.
 And follow the best path that is pointed out for you by your Lord, before the retribution overtakes you suddenly when you least expect it.
 Lest a soul may say, "How sorry I am for disregarding GOD's commandments; I was certainly one of the mockers."
 Or say, "Had GOD guided me, I would have been with the righteous."
 Or say, when it sees the retribution, "If I get another chance, I will work righteousness."
 Yes indeed (you did get enough chances). My proofs came to you, but you rejected them, turned arrogant, and became a disbeliever.

[Quran 3:16] ... "Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins, and spare us the agony of the hellfire."

[Quran 2:286] ... "Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make mistakes. Our Lord, and protect us from blaspheming against You, like those before us have done. Our Lord, protect us from sinning until it becomes too late for us to repent. Pardon us and forgive us. You are our Lord and Master. Grant us victory over the disbelieving people."
