Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Owing to their inadequate knowledge of the Quran and the fanatical behaviour of some of the so-called "adherents of Islam", the world at large believes that there are no "Muslim" values and cultures compatible with the principles of human rights. In fact, well before the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, God's religion guaranteed human rights for all the people, regardless of their race, color, creed, social status, financial situation, or political affiliation (Quran 5:8, 49:13). Among the many laws for righteous behavior, the Quran advocates maximum freedom for all people (Quran 2:256, 10:99, 88:21-22) and social justice for all through charity (Quran 2:215, 70:24-25, 107:1-7). [Quran 5:8] O you who believe, you shall be absolutely equitable, and observe GOD, when you serve as witnesses. Do not be provoked by your conflicts with some people into committing injustice. You shall be absolutely equitable, for it is more righteous. You shall observe GOD. GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do. The Only Criterion For Distinguishing Among The People [Quran 49:13] O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant. Following God's laws eliminates oppression and makes the world a better place. Further, a nation that upholds God's laws is guaranteed prominence among the nations of the world, victory, prosperity, and happiness (Quran 10:62-64, 16:97, 24:55, 41:30-31).
