Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, A Submitter happily submits to God under all circumstances. So, anytime we start to complain or object, we should remind ourselves, "God runs everything" and "I'm complaining against God" (i.e., we should stop complaining, and turn to God). Sometimes we turn into complainers. And we have to catch ourselves. Complainers will complain when things are good. They will complain when things are bad. That's objection. That's the opposite of Submission. Instead of complaining about what is missing, we should be appreciative of what God gave us. And know that God, who controls all things, will bless us with happiness if we submit to Him (Quran 41:30). A Submitter is a happy person. [Quran 2:61] Recall that you said, "O Moses, we can no longer tolerate one kind of food. Call upon your Lord to produce for us such earthly crops as beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said, "Do you wish to substitute that which is inferior for that which is good? Go down to Egypt, where you can find what you asked for." ... The Importance of Being Appreciative [Quran 14:6] Recall that Moses said to his people, "Remember GOD's blessings upon you. He saved you from Pharaoh's people who inflicted the worst persecution upon you, slaughtering your sons and sparing your daughters. That was an exacting trial from your Lord." Appreciative vs Unappreciative [Quran 14:7] Your Lord has decreed: "The more you thank Me, the more I give you." But if you turn unappreciative, then My retribution is severe.
