Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, In this worldly life, parents train their children to "dial 911" (emergency services) if there's danger. Why not train ourselves to immediately call upon God for help (Quran 1:5) when our souls are in danger? If we're getting angry, afraid or suspicious, or find ourselves slipping towards any sin, why not make it a habit to seek refuge in (and help from) God? God is the best and only Protector (Quran 3:173, 12:64, 4:132). We always need His help and His protection, whether it's from worldly danger or from the whispers of the devils (Quran 7:200, 16:98, 23:97-98, sura 113, sura 114, etc.). [Quran 3:173] When the people say to them, "People have mobilized against you; you should fear them," this only strengthens their faith and they say, "GOD suffices us; He is the best Protector." [Quran 23:97-8] Say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils. And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they come near me." [Quran 7:200-2] When the devil whispers to you any whisper, seek refuge in GOD; He is Hearer, Omniscient. Those who are righteous, whenever the devil approaches them with an idea, they remember, whereupon they become seers. Their brethren ceaselessly entice them to go astray. [Quran 1:5] You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help.
