Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Many consider a new year a time for a new beginning. While some may commit to worldly improvements, the real benefit comes from improvements to our souls. We all make mistakes. God, the Most Merciful, gives us the gift of repentance as a way to "clean the slate" (Quran 9:7-11). Repentance allows the sincere to start afresh; to make a new beginning in the areas we need to improve. With God's help we repent, reform and work righteousness to save our souls. [Quran 25:71] Those who repent and lead a righteous life, GOD redeems them; a complete redemption. [Quran 20:82] I am surely Forgiving for those who repent, believe, lead a righteous life, and steadfastly remain guided. The Believers Repent [Quran 66:8] O you who believe, you shall repent to GOD a firm repentance. Your Lord will then remit your sins and admit you into gardens with flowing streams. ... Reflection exercise: think of a Quranic commandment you want to improve on. How could you do it better?
