Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, We learn from the scriptures that the message of Jesus was, "Worship God alone". [Matthew 22:37-38] Jesus replied, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. ..." [Quran 3:51] "GOD is my Lord and your Lord;* you shall worship Him alone. This is the right path." {footnote} *3:51 This is precisely what Jesus is quoted to say throughout the New Testament. See for example the Gospel of John 20:17, and the book "Jesus: Myths and Message" by Lisa Spray, Ch. 4 (Universal Unity, Fremont, California, 1992). [John 12:44-50] Jesus proclaimed aloud: "Whoever puts faith in me believes not so much in me as in him who sent me; ..... For I have not spoken on my own; no, the Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to speak. Since I know that his commandment means eternal life, whatever I say is spoken just as he instructed me." As Christmas approaches, what better way to respect Jesus than to observe the message he brought? Note: all messengers preached one and the same message, "Worship God alone"; and as Submitters (in Arabic, "Muslims") we make no distinction among any of them.
