In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

We'd be willing to invest a great deal more in a high-quality crockery set expected to last a lifetime compared to paper plates that were likely to last for 20 minutes (a single meal). The Hereafter (compared to this life), lasts eternally longer. So how come the average person invests more on this life instead of the Hereafter?

     Re-arrange Your Priorities
[Quran 29:64] This worldly life is no more than vanity and play, while the abode of the Hereafter is the real life, if they only knew.

[Quran 2:200-202] ... Some people would say, "Our Lord, give us of this world," while having no share in the Hereafter.
 Others would say, "Our Lord, grant us righteousness in this world, and righteousness in the Hereafter, and spare us the retribution of Hell."
 Each of these will receive the share they have earned. GOD is most efficient in reckoning.

     The Purpose of Our Existence
[Quran 51:56-58] I did not create the jinns and the humans except to worship Me alone. I need no provisions from them, nor do I need them to feed Me. GOD is the Provider, the Possessor of all power, the Supreme.

[Quran 53:24-25] What is it that the human being desires?
 To GOD belongs both the Hereafter, and this world.

     The Hereafter
[Quran 17:19] As for those who choose the Hereafter as their priority, and work righteousness, while believing, their efforts will be appreciated.


Let us ask ourselves, "What can I do today to prioritize my investment in the Hereafter? How can I spend more time seeking God?"
