Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Righteousness is one of the minimum requirements for salvation (Quran 5:69, 2:62). The Quran teaches us how to lead a righteous life (2:177, 2:189, 3:17, 3:92, 3:110, etc.), and reminds us that it requires hard work (Quran 90:4). Righteousness Defined [Quran 2:177] Righteousness is not turning your faces towards the east or the west. Righteous are those who believe in GOD, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and they give the money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveling alien, the beggars, and to free the slaves; and they observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat); and they keep their word whenever they make a promise; and they steadfastly persevere in the face of persecution, hardship, and war. These are the truthful; these are the righteous. The rewards are well worth it (Quran 6:160, 10:9, 11:11, 11:23, 19:96, etc.), far beyond anything we can imagine (Quran 32:17). Heaven: Indescribably Beautiful [Quran 32:17] You have no idea how much joy and happiness are waiting for you as a reward for your (righteous) works. What will you do better today as you race towards righteousness?
