Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, God blessed us with the practice of fasting in Ramadan, a great gift. By fulfilling God's commandments we nourish our souls. Without such nourishment we cannot survive the immense energy associated with God's physical presence on the Day of Judgment. Belief in God does not by itself guarantee our redemption; we must also nourish our souls (Quran 6:158, 10:90-92). Among the benefits of fasting is that it helps the observer be more God-conscious. For example, we grow our souls when during the day we think of food or drink and abstain from them to please God. So also when we thank God for His guidance and the Quran (and for His many blessings). Now that the month of fasting is over for 2015 we have a choice. Will we continue to seek opportunities to remember God and be appreciative? [Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative. Peace.
