Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, The purpose of our existence on this planet is to worship God Alone (Quran 51:56). Commemorating other entities is a waste of time and harmful to our souls. We must use every possible moment of each day to commemorate and worship God. We learn from Quran that making "Salawaat" on the prophet Muhammad is idol-worship (shirk). Some scholars believe the words "Sulloo 'Alayhi" in Quran 33:56 mean "Utter Salawaat, i.e., meditate on Muhammad day and night." This is Satan's trick, and he has been successful in turning sincere Muslims into idol-worshiping Muhammadans. Only a few verses ahead of 33:56, we see a powerful commandment to commemorate our Almighty Creator, Most High, Be He Glorified Forever, to meditate on His Holy names, and glorify Him day and night: [Quran 33:41 - 42] O you who believe, you shall remember GOD frequently.* You shall glorify Him day and night. {footnote} *33:41-42 Your god is whatever occupies your thoughts most of the time. Hence the commandment to commemorate God and glorify Him day and night. See Appendix 27. During the Prophet's Life* [Quran 33:56] GOD and His angels help and support the prophet. O you who believe, you shall help and support him, and regard him as he should be regarded.* {footnote} *33:56 The word "prophet" (Nabi) consistently refers to Muhammad only when he was alive. Satan used this verse to entice the Muslims into commemorating Muhammad, constantly, instead of commemorating God as enjoined in 33:41-42. The words "Yusalloon" or "Salloo" or "Yusallee" or "Salat" are all derived from the root word "Wasala", the noun being WASL, or making contact. The word "Salloo" therefore, means to keep in contact with the Prophet, to join him, to be with him, and to support him with all our strength. Of course, this could be done only when he was alive. Hence the use of the word "Nabi" (prophet).
