Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 7:206] Those at your Lord are never too proud to worship Him; they glorify Him and fall prostrate before Him. God tells us in 7:206 about those near Him. One of the traits is they fall prostrate. In the Quran, God encourages us many times to fall prostrate to Him (3:43, 113, 9:112, 13:15, 15:98, 22:77, 25:60-64, etc.). The provision to fall prostrate to God is a great gift and its significance in our worship actions can never be emphasized enough. 'Prostration' is a humble act of submitting and surrendering power. Submitters are happy to be humble before God, and to fall down in prostration and worship. There is a whole chapter in the Quran (Sura 32) titled Prostration. God tells us in verses 15-16 of this chapter that if we truly believe, we will fall prostrate when we hear His words. In the next verse (32:17) He tells us that if we can work righteousness, the rewards that await are indescribably beautiful. [Quran 32:15-16] The only people who truly believe in our revelations are those who fall prostrate upon hearing them. They glorify and praise their Lord, without any arrogance. Their sides readily forsake their beds, in order to worship their Lord, out of reverence and hope, and from our provisions to them, they give. We know the ego was the reason for our exile to this world (Quran 2:54). Prostration helps us submit wholeheartedly and to be reverent of the Most High. It is the humble who return to Paradise (Quran 52:26) Let us break free of Satan and our egos, and carry out God's command to bow and prostrate to Him. Peace.
