Peace be upon you,

In the news recently we have seen accounts linking December 21, 2012 to some type of apocalypse or the end of the world. Predictions about the end of the world have been made for centuries, fueled by a natural curiosity among humans about the final days.

The Quran tells us in 18:7-8 and 69:13-15 that this world will come to an end. A new earth and new heavens will replace the present heavens and earth (Quran 14:48). The Quran provides many signs, and states that the means for unveiling the end of the world have been given (Quran 47:18). 

Among the signs given in the Quran for the approaching end of the world, we see: splitting off pieces of the moon, discovery of the Quran's 19-based mathematical code, the advent of the computer, and the appearance of God's Messenger of the Covenant.


[Quran 18:7] We have adorned everything on earth, in order to test them, and thus distinguish those among them who work righteousness.
[18:8] Inevitably, we will wipe out everything on it, leaving it completely barren.*

... End of the World  is Not Hidden*
[20:15] "The Hour (end of the world) is surely coming; I will keep it almost hidden. For each soul must be paid for its works.
*20:15 The end of the world is given in the Quran, God's final message (15:87).


[Quran 72:27] (God is) the Knower of the future; He does not permit anyone to unveil such knowledge. Only through the messengers that He chooses does He reveal future and past events."
