In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Peace be upon you,

Early in its history, USA recognized the importance of a "a day of public thanksgiving and prayer", as seen in the Thanksgiving proclamation of George Washington.

God reminds us often in the Quran to be thankful and appreciative. It should be a habit, and as submitters, we can take advantage of each day to give thanks to God. God continuously provides for our souls and our bodies. By His Grace, we have so much to be thankful for (2:185, 14:34, 16:18, 16:78, 22:36-37, 23:78, 28:73, 29:17, etc.) .


[Quran 2:152] You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative.

    God: The Only Source of Provisions 
[Quran 29:17] ... The idols you worship beside GOD do not possess any provisions for you. Therefore, you shall seek provisions only from GOD. You shall worship Him alone, and be appreciative of Him; to Him is your ultimate return.
