Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Salaam alaikum, Every year in the USA, the postal workers organize a Food Drive (this year, it will fall on May 8th). As submitters, we appreciate any opportunity God gives us to feed the poor. While many of us are blessed with an abundance of provisions, we know there are hungry people the world over. The Quran and the Bible both advocate feeding the poor. [Quran 76:8-11] They donate their favorite food to the poor, the orphan, and the captive. "We feed you for the sake of GOD; we expect no reward from you, nor thanks. "We fear from our Lord a day that is full of misery and trouble." Consequently, GOD protects them from the evils of that day, and rewards them with joy and contentment. [Isaiah 58:10] and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.
