Terrorism of September 11 (9/11) against God, His religion, and humanity

On the anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks of September 11, our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their lives and the families and friends who suffered. May God bring healing to this nation, and make it a peaceful land.

Many articles have been written in the aftermath of September 11, about how Islam was hijacked by a small group of terrorists. This is sadly true. The Quran, the holy scripture of Muslims, contains no justification for terrorism and killing innocent people. We take this time to reflect upon God's teachings of peace and the sacredness of life in Quran.

There is no place in Submission (Islam) for killing people based on their belief. The Quran says in 2:256, there is "no compulsion in religion". Furthermore, it is a religion of universal unity. God welcomes those who believe in Him, the last day and lead a righteous life, by whatever name they call themselves (Quran 2:62, 5:69 and 60:8).

Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the converts, and the Christians; any of them who
(1) believe in GOD and
(2) believe in the Last Day, and
(3) lead a righteous life, have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. [Quran 5:69]

Satan has surely gotten hold of those who claim to be Muslims but in the same breath they call for the killing of innocents. We know in the Quran that life is Sacred (6:151, 17:33, 25:68). There is no excuse ever for aggression (5:87, 2:190). After 9/11, many recounted the analogy of killing an innocent being like taking the life of all the people. This is in the Quran. God reminds us that life is granted by Him alone, and we must hold it sacred as God has decreed, and stand strong against the killing of innocents.

Grossness of Murder

[Quran 5:32] Because of this, we decreed for the Children of Israel that anyone who murders any person who had not committed murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he murdered all the people. And anyone who spares a life it shall be as if he spared the lives of all the people. Our messengers went to them with clear proofs and revelations, but most of them, after all this, are still transgressing.

One of the positive things since 2001 is that many Muslims have begun to speak up and take a stand against terrorism. They know that the Quran and Islam stand for righteousness, while terrorism and attacking innocents plays no part of any religion of God. God says in Quran 5:16 that He guides people “to the paths of peace” (with Quran). We believe the majority of Muslims are decent, God-fearing people. While the true religion of Islam may have been hijacked slowly and subtly by so-called "scholars" with only superficial or distorted knowledge of the teachings of the Quran, we feel the time for change is not far away. The scholars who abandoned the Quran in favor of unauthorized sources (such as Hadith and Sunnah) for social and political gain, have been shaping a religion for the masses based on premises that have nothing to do with what is clearly presented in the Quran.

We believe that True Islam (Submission) is like a precious jewel that is buried under piles of man-made innovations and social traditions. The terrorists and fundamentalists who claim to act on Islamic tenets to justify their ends make things even worse for decent Muslims who are striving to live by the correct teachings of GOD through the Quran. It is time for the true and caring Muslims to return to the basis of our great religion, the Quran. In it, we never find any exhortations to fight except in self-defense. We find that God reminds us we are all brethren, descendants of the same Adam and Eve. We find peace, truth and compassion.

[Quran 10:57] O people, enlightenment has come to you herein from your Lord, and healing for anything that troubles your hearts, and guidance, and mercy for the believers.

[19:33, 37:109, 120] ... And peace be upon me (Jesus) ... Peace be upon Abraham. ... Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. ...

[Quran 49:13] O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant.
